What a frigid February! The weather was a tough obstacle as we encountered snow and ice with extremely cold temperatures. There were many challenges to overcome. The elements created the need to allot more time for traveling , cleaning trucks, setting up the day, dumping, and more. However, our crew was able to brave through the weather and get the jobs done!

If we could think of one interesting challenge out of many, it would be the ice! During an outdoor job such as clearing a dumpster area behind a business, we had to chisel at many frozen items on the ground. When there was a dumpster rental, some items stuck to the bed of the bin, especially after sitting overnight. It was a blast trying to scrape off trash at the dump!

Along with cold weather comes time for extra maintenance on the trucks. This included major repairs, changing tires, tightening bolts, and interior detailing. On a daily average, we utilized 20 diesel gallons and traveled 192 miles per truck.

Our biggest job in February involved clearing the backroom of a retail store at 11 locations. The heaviest single item hauled was a safe, weighing in at 3500 pounds! The most interesting item hauled was a dresser, as the former owner informed us that it’s over 200-years-old! Our most frequented city, second to Indianapolis, was Carmel!

Looking ahead at the month of March, we’re eager for warmer weather, increased business, and fewer truck repairs! We will start planting some more yard signs and hanging door hangers, so be on the lookout for them! It’s spring cleaning season, so get ready for some decluttering and contact Bourn2Haul to make your project seamless! Signing off for the month of February, it’s Bourn2Haul.
